Banrock Station
On the shore of the Murray River, in South Australia, Banrock Station is home to a vineyard and the Wine and Wetland Centre for the public to enjoy wines and al-fresco dining, while overlooking a “wetland of international importance”. An 8 km self-guided walking trail network with boardwalks and birdhides leads you to the heart of the wetland and mallee.
The station is among the most diverse bird hotspots in South Australia, with over 180 species recorded on site, including Musk Duck, Freckled Duck, Blue-billed Duck, White-bellied Sea-Eagle, Australasian Little Bittern, several species of Rails and Crakes, and the nationally threatened Regent Parrot. Proceeds of wines sales supports environment conservation projects in Australia and worldwide.
Guided tours can be arranged in advance.
