Owned by a birder and run for birders, this 1,500 acre “Land for Wildlife” sanctuary is home to Inala’s founder Dr Tonia Cochran, and the base for Inala Nature Tours (see Tasmania & Australian tour listings) Our cottages are 4-star standard and fully-equipped for a comfortable stay; wildlife and birds abound on the property. A stay at Inala gives you access to all the reserve’s walking tracks, hides and viewing platforms. Almost 100 bird species have been recorded at Inala, including all 12 endemics. Over half of Tasmania’s bird species have been recorded on Bruny Island, classified as an Important Bird Area and one of Australia’s iconic birding hotspots.
